“This is one of the great campy songs of all time and one of my favorites of the first album. It was especially fun live, when Lita and I would pretend to be the guards Cherie and Joan were running from and when Cherie went down because of her ankle, we had great fun pretending to beat her. Lita would pretend to hit her from behind with her guitar, and I would pretend to crack my bass down over her head. That part always made Cherie a little worried because I looked like I meant it. We usually did DEJ as the last song of our set and at the end of the song, when Cherie was covered with blood and supposed to be dying, I would pretend to kick her before I ran off stage.”
